The RTA is executing a AED 1.5 billion project to upgrade Al Fay Street, extending it to the E611 (Emirates Road) with five major intersections and over 13 km of new bridges. The project will increase capacity to 64,400 vehicles per hour, improving traffic for 600,000 residents in areas like JVC, Dubai Sports City, and Damac Lagoons.

Project Scope: The project includes building 13,500 metres of bridges and 12,900 metres of roads, connecting Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) to Emirates Road (E611).
Key Intersections: Five major intersections will be upgraded, including a new 1,400-meter three-lane bridge at Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street and a 1,000-meter bridge at Emirates Road.
Phases & Timeline: The project is being developed in two main phases. Phase one is expected to be completed in 2027, with the final project completion anticipated around 2028.
Impacted Areas: The development directly benefits communities such as Jumeirah Golf Estates, Tilal Al Ghaf, Dubai Production City, and Remraam.
Traffic Improvement: The project is designed to significantly reduce congestion by creating a new, direct link, providing a major traffic solution for the area.
The project, which was awarded early in 2025, is part of the RTA’s 2025-2026 infrastructure development plan to enhance connectivity in rapidly growing residential areas.
