Living in Mina Al Arab
Mina Al Arab is a waterfront master-planned freehold community in Ras Al Khaimah developed by RAK Properties, built around lagoons, beaches and protected mangrove landscapes. The community mixes low-rise apartment buildings with waterfront villas, townhouses and resort-style residences, making it one of the UAE’s most popular coastal lifestyle destinations outside central Dubai.
The vibe
Mina Al Arab has a relaxed coastal atmosphere focused on outdoor living, sea views and family-friendly surroundings. Residents are drawn to the quieter lifestyle compared to central Dubai, with promenades, private beaches, cycling tracks and waterfront cafés shaping daily life. The community attracts families, remote professionals, retirees and investors looking for holiday-home style living. Parts of the district are still expanding, so ongoing construction in newer phases can occasionally be noticeable.
Where it sits in Dubai
Mina Al Arab is located along the coastline of Ras Al Khaimah, close to Al Hamra Village and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Salem Road. Travel time to central Ras Al Khaimah is around 15 minutes, while Dubai International Airport is approximately 50–60 minutes depending on traffic. The community also offers relatively easy access to Umm Al Quwain and Sharjah through the E11 highway.
Getting around
Mina Al Arab is largely car-dependent, with most residents relying on private vehicles or taxis for commuting. Internal roads are wide and easy to navigate, and parking availability is generally better than in many Dubai communities. Public transport options remain limited compared to Dubai, although intercity buses connect Ras Al Khaimah with Dubai and other emirates.
Lifestyle, schools and amenities
The community features waterfront retail promenades, supermarkets, cafés, gyms and beach clubs, with nearby destinations such as Al Hamra Mall providing additional shopping and entertainment. Several schools and nurseries operate within a short driving distance, including international curriculum options in Al Hamra and central Ras Al Khaimah. Residents also benefit from access to beaches, landscaped parks, jogging tracks and nature reserves with mangroves and flamingo habitats, giving Mina Al Arab a resort-style character uncommon in most urban UAE communities.
